The Research Of Fluxgate Compass System

In the humanity history, it is one most ancient measuring technique surveying the direction using the Earth magnetic field. Although this kind of surveying technology continuously in improvement and development, because of the modern science and technology development the request which proposes to the magnetic course survey is higher. The existing ships magnetic course measurement system faces many questions, such as the large volume, the heavy weight, the high power loss and expense of the debugging, the error compensation. In order to try to solve these problems , this article studies a new fluxgate compass system.The fluxgate phenomenon is one kind of universal existence electromagneticinduction, but it is neglected in the common electric appliance equipment. A iron core winded by the excitation coil and the induction coil becomes a fluxgate probe. Under the action of magnetic excitation, there are even harmonics electric potential which changes with the magnetic field intensity of surroundings. If the iron core is at the periodic over saturation active status, the potential induced by surrounding magnetic field will increase remarkably. This phenomenon is called fluxgate phenomenon, the potential induced by surrounding magnetic field is called fluxgate signal. Because the fluxgate probe is only able to sense to magnetic field in the probe's axis's direction, it has the extremely good vector responsiveness. Therefore, the fluxgate pokes could be used for to measure the magnetic field the direction.
