To resolve some key problems in the application of batteries in electric vehicle by adopting advanced technology of computer is one of the main directions of EV industry. Currently, the research on battery management system is very hot.This paper introduces a new battery management system (BMS) for battery in "863 Fuel Cell Bus" in tsinghua university.Based on the research and experimentations in old systems, this paper develops a new BMS that is to monitor the state of working batteries and to prolong the life cycle of the batteries. It adopts the new distributed structure that multi-node communication is based on CAN network in order to enhance its reliability, expansibility. Each node takes responsibility of its work separately like sampling, handling and protecting etc.And to forecast residual energy of the battery is one of the key functions in BMS. So it is significant to make a deep research on it. After comparing and analyzing new achievements in the world, a new algorithm based on ampere-hour model which considered some compensation and self-adjust during working period implemented.But now the BMS is still in the period of experimentation, the result data is so important. This paper adopts MySQL database system to save and manage the data, and adopts web-service technology based on Axis, in order to share the data to related unites.And the writer's hope and advice on the development of BMS are given at the end of this paper.
