The Realization Of The Visual Lossless Compression Of Medical Image Based On The Dicom Standard

With the further development of medical information technology and the prevalence of digital medical treatment, the DICOM standard made for medical images' storage and transmission is thought much of by the medical treatment field. The data of medical images is so much that it challenges the storage equipments and transmission equipments. So it's necessary to compress them, but the compression mustn't affect the diagnosis.The purpose of the article is to compress medical images with DICOM. There are three main point in it. They are the study of DICOM, the study of medical images's compression and the realization of medical images's visual lossless compression. And the most important one is the last one whose content is to do a visual lossless compression work with JPEG standard based on DCT so As to get a high compression ratio and don't affect the medical diagnosis.We use Visual C++6.0 to program. And we realized our aim.
