The Kylin operating system is developed by China and supported by HI-TECH Research and Development Program of China . It is a server OS in Chinese with our owned authority based on the POSIX standard. Kylin can adapt with various microprocessors and computer architectures which has a high-performance , high availability and high security kernel. Kylin is compatible with all Linux applications and 64 bits environment.DBMS applications are very important and frequently used in server OS . Whether the DBMS applications can well run in high speed and smoothly or not is the guide line for evaluating the performance of server OS . Oracle is the most popular platform for database system development, which has a large market share and users , thus become the first candidate for large-scale DBMS application system.This paper bring forward the object of optimization for Oracle9i DBMS based on the Kylin platform, from the comparison with it's performance running on the other popular commercial OS present, which requests the author's familiarizing with the Kylin OS , Oracle9i, the standard and test environment of the TPC-C Benchmark firstly. And then discuss the research and the realization on the optimization for Oracle9i based on the Kylin platform, with TPC-C Benchmark as evaluating tool and two method that we used is from above to below and the principle based on performance. We have made stepwise optimization to lots of factors of the three aspects —application system, Oracle9i, and the environment on the Kylin, and got the TPC-C Benchmark value other popular OS can obtain finally, which also proved that the Oracle9i DBMS can run smoothly and in high speed on the Kylin platform.From our logical analysis to the frame of TPC-C Benchmark and supervision of the system tested, we discovered and tuned the available facets of datasheet index framework from TPC-C standard and storage parameter, and made dramatic progress to the performance of the system tested during the process optimizing the application systems. And we have summarized some comparative detailed and exercisable optimizing method and experiment instance from material trial, which could get the same preferable impression when applied on the other OS.
