Active and passive radar composite seeking (APRCS) technology is one of multi-mode composite seeking technologies. It is the typical application of information fusion technology in target tracking field. With its widely application in precise guided weapons, the performance of whole weapon system is sharply improved by the complementarities of active and passive radar system. As active and passive radar composite seeking technology balances the tackle performance, design complexity and expenditure of a missile guided system, there will still be great potential of such technologies in current and future theater assault and defense systems.Multi-sensor target tracking has gained popularity over past decade with advent of vigorous sponsorship of many areas. Some successful applications have shown an attractive perspective. However Many relevant theories and technologies must be explored and developed for practice. Research in this thesis focuses on selection of fusion structure, state estimation algorithm, association and fusion rules etc. And a level one information fusion algorithm simulation system is dedicated. The thesis is organized as follows:The general model of multi-sensor information fusion system is introduced in Chapter 1. The contents of researches on multi-sensor tracking, the basic theories especially the active and passive bi-mode seeking technology are reviewed. The state estimation algorithms are the basis of information fusion. The typical single-mode tracking algorithms are dedicated. According to the mechanism of active and passive radar observation, a preprocessing method for observation data is dedicated. Simulation and practical data test show that better performance can be obtained by this preprocessing. In Chapter 3 nearest neighbor data association (NNDA) algorithm and joint probability data association (JPDA) algorithm are firstly studied. Then variance fusion algorithm based on NNDA is presented. Practical systems will take advantage from its better performance. And an fusion algorithm based on multi-sensor PDA filter is presented for clutter environment. Additionally a'track-to-track'fusion which is actually a distributed fusion algorithm is presented on the active and passive single-mode tracking. Information fusion tracking algorithm performance analysis and evaluation method are also studied in the chapter.A Level one Data Fusion algorithm Simulation system (L1DFS) is dedicated in Chapter 4. The two fusion algorithms presented in former chapter is applied to the system. The results show the good performance of both algorithms and platforms. Finally, we summarize the work and point out prospect of active and passive radar composite seeking technology in chapter 5.
