Research On The Testing And Evaluating Method Of Non-linear Editing Network System

In recent years, how to test and evaluate non-linear editing network system (Network-NLE) has been the most urgent problem which need to be resolved in extending NLE application widely. This paper mainly focus on this problem as follows :Analyzing the existed methods used to evaluate the NLE system, and pointing out the necessity of testing the video quality is. Dividing the evaluation of Network-NLE system into four subjects: video quality unit, network bandwidth unit, software function unit and system stability unit. Thus, the evaluating and testing method has been developed based on further standardization and specification.Trying to establish a new parameter system which could reflect the performance of Network-NLE system, and proposing a way to describe the Network-NLE system by certain parameter and uncertain parameter. A five-element way, which can be used to convert uncertain parameter into certain parameter is developed as well in order to quantitate the analysis.Designing a testing project based on three typical Netwok-NLE, and testing all related testing parameters.Contrasting typical Network-NLE systems based on the theoretical analysis and the testing results. The results show that the method proposed in this paper can efficiently evaluate all kinds of Network-NLE, and it has been adopted by Hunan TV station.Discussing the further development of Network-NLE system, and list some problems need to be resolved in future research.
