Software testing, an indispensable part in the life span of software, plays an important role in improving the quality of software. In this paper, in light of the demand for communication product test, based on the analysis of the features of mobile telecommunication system, the automated testing technique is studied, and a kind of automated testing environment ATE which is applied to mobile telecommunication system is brought forward. This paper covers preliminary design and detailed design of ATE as well as control procedure adopted in the implementation of testing platform. And also this paper gives an illustration about ATE's application in the unit testing and system testing through caseses by the data analysis, and a further discussion at the end about the development of ATE. ATE uses a unit testing approach to automatic generation of stub function and driving code, resulting in less work by hand and higher efficiency of unit testing.ATE uses general resorce management and mul-simulator, which can implement all kinds of system testing and service control.ATE is applied to unit test, integrated test and system test of mobile telecommunication system. Many software developers and testers appreciate the testing platform which eases their testing burden and improves testing efficiency.
