The development of information and communication technologies means that, nowadaysthere are huge amounts of information available thus someone think that they are in aninformation overload era. In e-business, as the amount of information continuously increasing,a lot of information resources are under unmanaged due to lower information handle facility. How to add value to enterprise digital assets and offering customer and partner with qualifiedinformation is the key issue enterprise are facing. Content Management (CM) is an entireprocess of managing, producing, updating and discovering useful content, in which digitalassets is transformed into useful content, thus may extracts more return-on-investment (ROI)from content assets. As an entry of unified information access, portal is widely used in system integration bydifferent companies. There are three main kinds of system integration: data integration, userinterface integration and user integration. Placeholder mechanism helps to reach the goal of UIintegration by abstracting various presentation of content in portal. Data can be collected bysupporting access to different database sources or by calling API, and then they can betransformed and delivered to achieve the target of data integration. As stated above, contentsharing in CM can also be implemented by applying these technologies. The working of thisissue is mainly about follow aspect: UI integration, content integration and unified identitymanagement.Presentation of various content needs to be first considered before the question of UIintegration. Content, such as text, image, two-dimension report table and so on, has its ownreprensentation style and form. Based on abstraction of different content's representation logic, placeholders can fullfil the task of UI integration. However fixed presentation logic leads tolack of flexity. An improved placeholder mechanism is put forward in this issue, in whichplaceholder can be imbedded in each other thus makes it more flexible. As there are various content types, content transformation and storage must be solvedbefore content integration. A valid content manangement data model can simplify the processof content transformation, and it also impact on performance of content retrieval andefficiency. In meta-component based data model we proposed, content can be contructed bycomposite of several meta-component, thus complex content can be described by using moremeta-component, and all operations on content are based on meta-component. By offeringstandard access and query API, content can be shared between systems.Single Sign On (SSO) is widely used in an situation where user with more than oneaccounts to remember in portal, with SSO user could put the former problem behind. In centralidentity manangement solution, SSO can be achieved for identities are stored in central server, but the strong counpling relation makes most former system to change a lot. In federate identitymanagement solution, SSO can hardly be reached as identity stored in different systems, and itsadvantage is former systems don't need to change a lot. In our mixed identity solution, identityinformation is stored in both central server and local server, thus it can be well fit in a situationwith many systems by taking advantages of both solutions stated above. At last, we have been implemented a content management system based on technologiesmentioned above and it has been widely applied.
