With the rapid development of information industry, the further reconstruction of traditional industry and the increasing demand of energy saving, the market of switching converters is promoting. The advances and availability of modern power semiconductor devices since the 1970s, the innovation of theory on the switching converter, and the evolution of integrated circuits makes the switching converters to be researched all over the world. The technology of switching converters integrates several techniques. However, it is difficult to make the product available because most of the academic institution focused on certain aspect only. The experts indicate that the IC designers should know more about the system though they don't design the system directly. It points out a way for us IC designers when we are engaged in the research work. This paper research and analyze the whole system before the beginning of designing the DC-DC switching converter. The steady state and dynamic state analysis of the main loop are worked and the control mode and stability criterion are introduced in the switching converter, which instructed the design of the IC.The aim of this paper is to design a DC to DC step-down switching regulator. It has very high conversion efficiency to prolong the using time of the batteries.In this paper, the proposed regulator has two operation modes...
