Most of the current telecommunication operators have a large-scale telecommunication networks. With the continued expansion of the scale of the network, the complexity of the entire network has also been increasing. To meet these change, ITU-T developes a new unified integrated tools for telecommunication network maintenance and administration — telecommunication management network (TMN) .CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) is a distributed and object-oriented application specification, which can realize cross-platform application. TMN is a new tools,which is proposed by ITU,providing a new way to manage network.During telecommunication network construction, TMN standards has been widely recognized and entered the stage of implementation and application. However, Although TMN contributes to the network management, some deficiencies in their own way of implementation hinder the development of telecommunication services.In order to achieve integrated management and optimization of the entire network, and give full play to management functions, TMN architecture and implementation methods are needed to improved.The functions of TMN include: Configuration management,Performance management, Security management, Fault management,and Accounting Management.This thesis mainly deals with Performance management, including two functions: performance data collecting and performance management. Performance data Collection function includes the modules of creating, stopping, halting,collecting, and conversing. Performance data management functions mainly includes NMC which could inquire about designated performance data document information.In this thesis, China Uniform north interface Performance module of TMN is studied and realized based on CORBA technology. First , it focuses on the telecommunication network performance management system subsystems through a detailed requirement analysis and design of the framework , it also has a detailed design about CORBA interfaces to the North to North CORBA interface and performance management subsystems. On this basis, based on the unified network management platform ZTE (ZTE is China's largest listed telecoms manufacturer), according interchange requirements, based on CORBA technology and the idea of unified management platform structure ,and with the author of the performance management system of data collection study,a performance CORBA systems is designed.The functions of the performance CORBA systems include how to establish mandates, delete tasks, data collection, and so on.This thesis also introduces how a data collection functions works by OMC. Our Performance management system is passed a practical test.The use of three-tier system structure can enhanced system stability andreduce software maintenance costs.In the three-tier system structure system, Unified Element management system platform has nothing to do with the products and can be re-used, only specific products and operational level are related, which reflect network management functions of a product.Results and conclusions in this research have been applied to ZXCOMC2.5 IX network management system of ZTE and it works well.
