DSP (Digital Signal Processor) chips have been developing rapidly in recent years because of its strong data processing ability and lower cost. This dissertation mainly discusses the designing plan and application in information card reading machines for data acquisition and processing system, which is based on DSP and CPLD (Complex Programmable Logic Device). On the basis of analysis about some relational applying background, the designing plan for the system's hardware and software is put forward successfully through reasoning and comparing, the methods for testing and analyzing are also given.Firstly, this dissertation introduces the key techniques of DSP and CPLD briefly, some chips information about TMS320F2407A and EPM7128S are also listed out, and also give an introduction of the architecture and the function of system.Secondly , the realization plan of system for hardware and software is expounded in detail ,including DSP mini system, JTAG interface,PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) module,I2C module,A/D (Analog to Digital) conversion circuit,communication interface,LCD display module etc. The designing and realizing process is analyzed as followed, which consists of controlling of the data-acquisition, data processing,motor control,data submitting,USB1.1 and SCI interface etc. Some programming methods of DSP are also presented. This dissertation also analyzes how to improve the responding ability and the precise of data processing for data acquisition and processing systems. The combination of DSP and CPLD brings great flexibility for the system's whole designing, and also convenient to update for system. The system's applications in information card reading machines are tested and analyzed, the results shows this system meets the demands of high speed acquisition and real-time processing completely.Lastly ,According to hardware resources in this system, detailed tests about some modules' function are made, which shows this system have more advantages in accuracy, speed and flexibility etc over traditional equipments. This dissertation adopts the method of simulation to test and verify this system,which using wavelets transform to get rid of noises. This may lay a foundation for future designs, and some guiding practical conclusions are drawn. Combining with the latest development in related fields, this dissertation also presents prospects for future work.
