The Study Of Embedded Software Development Platform Based On Windows CE.net

Embedded hardware platform which main CPU choosese ARM processor nearly had been hardware standard of information industry. One side, it had the excellent advantage of small space, powerful performance, low power dissipation, high reliability. On the other hand, it provided hardware base for running embedded operating system steadily. Therefore, embedded system made up of hardware platform based of ARM processor and embedded operating system was widely used in national defence, consume electronic, networking communication, industry control field and so on.This paper linked the practicing project------the developing of vehicle holdingnavigation based on GPS. The project thought the vehicle holding navigation based on GPS as application background, and hardware platform was based on Samsung Company's S3C2440 processor, it a high-speed embedded processor based on ARM920T. Software platform was based on Microsoft company's embeddedoperating system------Windows CE.Net. The hardware platform and software platformmade of a whole embedded system together.This paper carried on analyzing and studying to the development of the platform of the software development in the project, including two parts: hardware design and software design. During the designing for the platform of the hardware, it introduced the development flow of embedded system, S3C2440 CPU, choosing of memory, and the choosing and designing of various equipment interfaces. During the designing for the software platform, included the development of the BSP, Bootloader, OAL layer, and the equipment drivers. Furthermore the customrize of the Windows CE operating system is involved on basis of need too. At this software developing, the desiging and developing of Device driver is a very important part in the designing for the platform of the software, so at last the papers attach so much importance to the introducing of the process of driver developing. There will be some examples for the driver's development of the touching screen, keyboard, and serial ports.
