WinCE Transplanting And Device Drivers Development Of Vehicle System Based On PXA255

Embedded System is a branch of computer system. With the development of mobile communications, notebook PC and digital household appliances etc., as well as the infiltration of IT technology in the industry, traffic, and military affairs, Embedded System has become a hot spot of IT industry.The application of Embedded Microprocessor gets increasingly popular in the Embedded System. The Embedded Microprocessor of Intel XScale family is widely used with its high speed, low power consumption, rich peripheral interface and other advantages, especially in the portable terminal such as PDA, notebook PC and so on. In terms of system software, Windows CE Embedded operating system occupies more and more important position in the market because of its multiple platform supporting capability, easy programming method, and easy use and development and other characteristics.Firstly, this paper introduces the concept and features of Embedded Systems and the developing process of vehicle systems. On this basis, it forwards the general design program of the hardware platform combining with the characteristics of PXA255 processor. Secondly, during the software development process, it expounds the transplanting process of Windows.CE operating system, focusing on the compilation of OAL launch codes and other bottom codes. Next, it analyzes the achievement and transplantation of several key drivers with emphasis, including serial port, touch screen and LCD monitor. It also introduces the debugging process of the vehicle system development platform, including the hardware platforms and software debugging methods and experience. Final test results show that the system is stable; hardware and software conform fully to the design requirements.
