Aiming at the need in the communication and network optimization progressively by the PHS wireless communication system and 3G mobile communication system, fine base antenna is required. In this paper simple antenna cells are formed to the array in practice. The array has the characteristics of specific directivity and high gain.Antenna cells select the traditional round microstrip patch antenna. It is ameliorated for the array. Then a project is put forward to design the round microstrip patch antenna with broad band , wide main-lobe and low side-lobe. It is fed by capacitive coaxial probe, air is substrate. The space between the patch and ground is increased properly. The results in the emulate and practice is presented. The change widens the band , broadens the minor-lobe and narrows the side-lobe. Based on it, linear array of two cells and two-dimensional array of four cells are analyzed. Appropriate parameters are chosen based on the emulate and measure. Several experimental base station antenna are factured aiming at the PHS wireless system. The measure in practice satisfies the need of application. To amend the parameter of array ,it can be used in the other wireless communication system.
