Traditional Streaming-Media-System is primarily based on client-server architecture, in which the server resources are expected to be easily used up as the number of clients increases, due to the high-bandwidth and long-lasting characteristics of Streaming-Media-Service. This system bottleneck will severely influence system scalability and therefore make it a hot research topic in the field of Streaming-Media-System.On the other hand, Peer-to-Peer network, due to its superior features such as non-centralized-control peer, load balancing, self-organization and fault-tolerance, could avoid the bottleneck inherent in client-server architecture and is widely used nowadays in file-sharing system.Aiming at introducing P2P network into Streaming-Media-System, this thesis comes up with a Distributed-hashing-table based Super-peer Multi-TV Streaming Service System(DSMS). In addition, studies on the DSMS architecture, controlling peers and the mechanism of transporting streaming media will also be presented.This thesis is organized as follows:Firstly, a Distributed-hashing-table based Super-peer Multi-TV Streaming Service System(DSMS) is proposed, with its Super-peers organized by Streaming-Chord algorithm in order to effectively reduce the peers' haphazardry,heterogeneity and efficient organizing. This system is robust and efficient. Moreover, only simple modifications on transporting mode is needed, before it could be applied to other application systems.Secondly, a Streaming-Chord algorithm with high-speed location and efficient routering capability is proposed to organize peers.Thirdly, a DSMS streaming media assignment algorithm which guarantees the QoS of streaming media by assigning heterogeneous peers different transporting tasks is proposed as transporting mechanism in this DSMS.Simulation results on a prototype DSMS is given lastly.
