The thesis introduces the design and application of a software system used in a trace heavy metal determination instrument. The trace heavy metal determination instrument is a kind of instrument which consists of three methods, including Ion Selective Electrode (ISE) based on sensitive chalcogenide glass materials, electrochemical stripping voltammetry and Light-addressable Potentiometric Sensor (LAPS) to detect trace metals in seawater.The software system contains several modules including data processing, data communication, process control, data storage, monitor program and so on. Communication between the instrument and the server is based on serial port RS232 or Ethernet port and the message mechanism in Windows is used for communication among the modules in the software system. According to the commands it received, the software system can control the running of our instrument, and process the raw data by several algorithms such as outlier detection and correction, digital filters, curve correction, etc. After that, the software system stores these results and transmits them to the server. During the whole processes above, there is a monitor program supervising the software system.The thesis mainly discusses not only the selection, comparison, simulation of several methods which have been applied in data processing, but also those parallel running tests using multiple threads. The message mechanism used in the software system and the design of database are also introduced in detail.Finally, practical application of the above mentioned software is introduced and the elemetary experiments and analysis results for the characteristics evaluation of these softwares are provided.
