Research Of Heterogeneity Of Pervasive Computing And Personal Smart Environment

Since the idea of pervasive computing is brought up in 1991, the main and famous universities, colleges, research institutes and company have been focusing on this field with great support. Therefore, the development of pervasive computing is very fast, and pervasive computing has been the hot topic of the computing technique. However, it faces many issues and challenges in the conversion from the PC computing to pervasive computing. Heterogeneity is one of them. And one of the solution directions to heterogeneity is smart space.The spirit of pervasive computing is substituting the machine-centered with user-centered. From the side of user-centered idea, this paper bright up another solution to the heterogeneity, that is personal smart environment. This paper provides the definition of the personal smart environment and the services it should supply.According to the personal smart environment, this paper also gives out an application example - EasyDay system, which provides the information services to user from three parts - family, work, leisure. This paper describes the EasyDay with four parts -application model, system function, realizing principle, and realizing methods, and then programs the EasyDay prototype system mainly with the VC, EVC and ASP.The personal smart enviromnent and EasyDay system is a new initial probe to the heterogeneity.
