As the most effective means to eliminate current harmonics, Active Power Filer(APF) can compensate dynamically harmonics whose frequencies and amplitudes vary; Moreover, its compensation characteristics is immune to the impedance variation of utility. The main content of this thesis is about the study on combination system which is based on active power filter module. All contents are spread on the experiment study of the combination system' running characters. This paper presents the structure and working principle based on DSP for modular Active Power Filter, This paper also describes the design and accomplish of control system for combination system. In chapter one, the harmonic problems and the development of active power factor filter are discussed. Also the paper gives a more detailed discussion of combination system based on active power filter module. In chapter two, the system structure and working principle of modular APF are introduced. Also the structure design of combination system and its stability are studied. In chapter three, the design of control system for combination system is presented, and gives a more detailed discussion of redundancy parallel control technology and realization for principal and subordinate way, also the solution for module failure is introduced. In chapter four, the design of combination system based on two active power filter modules is present. The 50kVA APF test system is introduced. A detailed study on the hardware and software design of the control system is presented. And experiment results are studied. Conclusions for combination system based on active power filter module are given in the last chapter.
