The Research And Implementation Of Media Gateway In NGN Background

With the high-speed development of information science, NGN became closer andcloser. Various kinds of telecom equipments which base on NGN enter into commercialtime one after another. Media Gateway (MGW) is one of the NGN equipments.MGW's quality and capability relate to telecom QoS. Therefore how to design aneffective test plan to ensure MGW's quality becomes an important problem. Thisproblem is also a focus which concerned much by telecom equipment manufacturersand researchers. Firstly, the paper analyzed NGN system structure and MGW's location and usefulin NGN. Secondly, the paper studied MGCP's main idea and contend. In the course oftest plan designing the paper also referenced the theory of software test methodology.Next the paper studied MGW's system structure and its' modules function. Thenaccording to the research work hereinbefore, the paper began to launch on designingMGW's test plan. The paper gave a set of MGW's test plan, and emphased on MGWnarrowband operations test. The test plan contains five parts and they are calling test,signal chain test, capability test, reliability test, maintenance management system test.In the test process, some useful data are also recorded, such as MGW's capability data,modules' start-up time and etc. These data provide reliable reference for engineers. This test plan is gained by the writer and her comrades together . They took thistest plan as a direction and successfully tested Thailand AIS telecommunication office,Guangdong C4 telecommunication office, Gansu Wuwei telecommunication office andHunan terminal telecommunication office. Now these offices are in wonderful runningstate. There MGW's QoS is good and there capability are steady. These result validatesthe test plan is all-around and viable.
