With the development of computer network technology, especially the widely application of Internet/Intranet technique, application of oil monitoring has also undergone great changes, as one of the main effective condition monitoring and fault diagnosis techniques of mechanical equipment. So it has been significantly changed for the previous monitoring mode of collection and analysis data with single machine to the web -based oil monitoring and fault diagnosis mode. Therefore, conduct oil monitoring and fault diagnosis to the direction of providing web services is feasible and necessary.Combined with the National Natural Science Foundation project ~ "the study of intellectualized description means of tribology system state characteristic(No.50275111)",this paper studied the development technique of a web-based oil monitoring and fault diagnosis system , presented the architecture and executive plan of oil monitoring system based on browser / server mode and explored the key technologies of system implementation. The main outcomes and innovations of this paper in theory and practice are as follows:a). Analyzing and expounding the theory of web-based oil monitoring and fault diagnosis system, and discussing two different network executive plan in detail;On the basis of above research , putting forward web-based three-tiered B/S structure for architecture and operation pattern of oil monitoring and fault diagnosis system, making functional design and dividing function block for the system.b). Discussing several key technologies to the realization of the system -com technology, ASP.NET technology and Web database technology in detail.c). Making a detailed analysis of technology and implementation method of the oil monitoring and fault diagnosis system modules, such as , system management, data collection, data management, knowledge management, online communication zone, BBS technology forum, information exchange center and proposing a new mode of data acquisition with the serial ports conversion servernetworking.d). Studying the method of online debris image processing based matlab web server ,analyzing the data transmission methods and network security of web-based oil monitoring and fault diagnosis system in detail, and using the encryption techniques innovatively to encrypt database.e). A lot of oil analysis knowledge, information and resources has been effectively integrated in the system, which form an abundant diagnostic knowledge base and diagnostic database. It is believed that the integrated system improves the overall diagnostic capability of the system and achieves resources-recycling and information-sharing and possessing good extensibility. This system can be not only used in the monitor and diagnostic center, and but also can be accessed out of the center. Via Web service, users can inquire failure messages of equipments and get to know fault states of equipments.
