Ad hoc network is a dynamic multihop wireless network that is established by a set of mobile nodes on a shared wireless channel .Investigations on Ad hoc networks have received considerable interest in recent years due to its capability to deploy quickly without any infrastructure .Ad hoc network is getting more and more extensive application and has already become an important direction in mobile communication technology, and will occupy the important position in future communication technology.With the appearance of the business required strict QoS, which requires the network to offer the guarantee of service quality (QoS).Because of the particularity of wireless Ad hoc networks, to offer QoS assurance has more and more important meanings in wireless Ad hoc networks. However, wireless ad hoc networks have a lot of characteristics such as multi-hop, limited bandwidth resource and dynamic network topology. These features make it more complex to provide QoS in wireless ad hoc networks and give network researchers new challenges.On the basis of in-depth study of wireless Ad hoc network routing technologies and QoS routing technologies, this thesis presents a kind of routing protocol (QoS-AODV), which is an improvement of AODV. It adds certain bandwidth requirement, which makes every routing node must meet certain bandwidth requirements when the phase of routing initiation and routing maintenance and enhances the capacity of dealing with the sudden business and real-time business, then provides a more reliable network routing. Through simulation of QoS-AODV protocol and AODV protocol and the analysis of the experiment result, it is found that this protocol have good performance. Compared with AODV protocol, QoS-AODV has better performance on the average delivering rate, network load and control message spending.Simulation tool used in this thesis is NS2, the simulation platform is Windows2000 and Cygwin.Under NS2, this thesis shows how to modify the AOD'V protocol, the computation principle and realization of bandwidth, and QoS-AODVsimulation under different simulation scenes.Finally, this thesis presents the sum-up of the research work, and describes the future work.This article has seven chapters, its content as follow:Chapter 1, introduction. Introducing background, significance and main work of this article.Chapter 2, wireless Ad Hoc network. Introducing the concept, characteristic and application of Ad Hoc network.Chapter 3, Ad Hoc network routing technology. Introducing several important routing protocols.Chapter 4, Ad Hoc network QoS routing technology. Introducing QoS model and three QoS routing protocols.Chapter 5, NS2 and network simulation. Introducing NS2 and wireless simulation part.Chapter 6, QoS-AODV routing protocol simulation. Introducing the basic idea, the realization method, and also realizes it in NS2, then analyses the simulation results and compares the performance of this protocol with AODV.Chapter 7, sum-up and hope.
