With the development of the national economy, the mileage of high-grade highway opening to the traffic increases greatly and highway transportation has become one of the most important means of all transportations. However, there is a variety of factors, such as backward in the hardware of highway management, imperfect in transport-related institution and vehicle owners pursuit after the maximum of profit Make overloading become a primary problem. To develop overloading detecting technology and effectively control it therefore becomes hot topics in recent years.At present, in this country, the automobile weighting systems mostly employ the traditional electrical signal. Its performance is poor in precision, sensitivity, durability, stability, repeatability, zero shift, and simple in function as well. So they can not meet the demands in actual application. This condition brings the enormous error, and also causes national tax losing.Undoubtedly, a novel dynamical weighing technique with high precision, high dynamical characteristics, full immunity of disturbance, and low cost will be of significance of our highway transportation.This thesis, focusing on the problem of vehicle weighing technique, introduces Fiber Bragg Gratings cantilever and simple beam weighing sensors. It also gives systematic analysis on sensing properties, manufacturability and encapsulating technology of the two weighing sensors. Comparing the results of measurement on the different experiment models, a series of method is put forward to eliminate the measurement error in this paper.Main jobs completed are as follows:1. Analyzed the limitation and deficiency of traditional vehicle weighing sensors on effective management of overloading problem. According to the idea of FBG scale, which is proposed by the Fiber Optic Sensing Research Center, design, computation and experiment have been done.2. Substituted strain-gauge type with FBG type in cantilever scale sensors. Andmade an FBG weighing sensor in a simple beam.3. Did experiments to analyze the precision and repetition on the test models. Exerted an artificial attenuation on them, and compared the results between attenuated and un-attenuated.4. According to the results of experiment, some improve opinions have been submitted out to ameliorate the FBG vehicle weighing sensors. Experimental results showed that the scheme of FBG weighing sensor is feasible.It has benefit on the detection of overloading vehicles and has a wide application prospects.
