With the development of railway transportation, more efficient, secure andreliable demands are brought forward to railway signaling control. Recently, with therapid development of microcomputer technology as well as the new updating of thesecurity and reliability theory, the technical foundation is laid for the generating anddevelopment of the microcomputer interlocking system. This system has been appliedto many railway stations, replacing the electric interlocking system step by step.In order to train railway technical personnel and in-service personnel better, andto make them master basic skills of microcomputer interlocking more rapidly, thedevelopment of microcomputer interlocking simulation system, which has advantagesof being convenient operating, low-cost and perfect-functioned, is urgent request ofrailway department. At the same time, the students majoring in signaling mayimprove their learning efficiency by operating on the experiment device when theylearn the theory of railway signaling. Therefore, the development of microcomputerinterlocking simulation system is putted forward as a scientific research project byUrumchi railway transportation vocational school. The specific work that the authorhas finished in this research is as follows: the development of microcomputerinterlocking control system in which the programmable controller is adopted, thedevelopment of interlocking software using an object-oriented technology based onWindows operating system, the analysis of the security and reliability of controlsystem.1,The layered safety-interlocking configuration was adopted in the controlsystem. The first layer is a control computer, the second is an interlocking computer,the third is indoor interface cupboard and power supply cupboard etc, the last isoutdoor signal machine,track circuit and electric point switch. Microcomputer,especially used in industry control, is adopted in the first layer to keep high reliabilityand many communication interfaces are prepared for extending function latter. Theprogrammable controller (PLC) S7-300 is applied in the second layer. The PC/PPIcable is used as communication link between the first and the second layer. The layersare connected by cable to make a complete microcomputer interlocking system.2,Interlocking software is programmed with Delphi7.0, an object-oriented visualapplication program development tool, of which main control interface is designedaccording to the station signal location plan. It could achieve information processingof human-machine interface, including operation information processing and showinformation processing. Basic interlocking control and executing control, which meaninput and output control, can be implemented.3,Railway signaling system is a real time control system with high security andreliability to keep traveling crane secure. Therefore the security and reliability ofsingle-computer system, two-computer system with thermal preparation and majorityredundancy system are analyzed in this paper.In the practice process, the system is secure, reliable and steady going. Not onlyit can meet the request for teaching and training, but also save money and makeeconomic profit. It provides another good example of microcomputer interlockingcontrol of railway signaling.
