This thesis makes a research on using Cortex-M3 to complete the control of railway transportation and the condition of gathering in the orbital interlocking control system. The topic comes from "The track traffic circulation control experiment system" of Beijing Jiaotong University. This article mainly makes the improvement to the original signal output and input section in the system. In this article, the Cortex-M3 is used as entire gathering control section to directly connect with the terminal, and this method substitutes for original output and input cards through ISA or PCI bus connecting with the terminal. The system established on the embedded platform is more reliable and expandable. The paper first gives a general research of the system, and proposes the plan of the track signal sending. Then after existing system hardware analysis, my own improvement program is proposed. The paper introduces the design of hardware in detail, including interlocking information acquisition control panel based on the primary control chip of embedded processor Cortex-M3. The connection of the control system with the equipment and the communication of Cortex-m3 and IFIX (upper computer) have been realized. And ultimately, the accurate transmission between terminal and gathering control system and the equipment is realized through programming, and an interlocking control platform based on Cortex-M3 is established. The breakdown mistake presented in the running of the original system has been analyzed and induced. The test board completed has been applied in the breakdown detecting of the system. The improved orbital interlocking control system has been tested on the sand table equipment and achieves the anticipated design function. This design's successful application in the laboratory provides a broader prospect for applying Cortex-M3 in the scene interlocking plant.
