The article introduces a Design of Measurement of Ground Surface Roughness onengineering,which uses optical sensor technology. It takes advantage of height of roadto modulate optical signal intensity in order to complete measurement of parameters andevaluation of quality about ground roughness on engineering. The transmitter andreceiver of optical signal are LBD(luminous diode)and optoelectronic diodes,respectively. The instrument uses three paths measurement method to measure groundroughness on engineering effectively. Firstly, it converts the signal of roughness intooptical signal, and then continues to signal process. After photo electricity conversion,we get digital signal through A/D data collection board, which controlled by SCM(AT89C52), and save the digital signal into external RAM, SCM get the data andcalculate the measure results (Normal difference), then print the results and measurecurve by subminiature printer, at the same time, the data can also be inputted intocomputer by Series interface to compute, display output result and save the measurerecord into database to query. Optical measurement technology combines with computertechnology has not only the benefit of untouchable measurement and three paths sensor,but also its operation is simple, its cost is low and its characteristic is intellectualized.The article gave the design and implement process of Measurement of GroundSurface Roughness on engineering, analyzed its method which was used to assess. Andit placed emphasis on introduction of the means of data collection board, circuit ofsignal process and software design. Then, I have given the result analysis aboutexperiment. Finally, we bring forward the conceptive design that using ARM in ourmeasure system.
