Project Of The Chengdu Digital Trunking Mobile Communication System

With the rapid growth of the urbanization and the city population, the pressure that the city government faces is also increasing, which makes it more urgent to establish aninfrastructure——Emergency Radio Communication System. It becomes a basic element for amodern city, and a typical measure to embody municipal management level and the local government appearance.According to the decision of the Chengdu People's Government and the project sanctified by the Chengdu Development and Programming Committee, an 800MHz digital trunking mobile communication and command system will be established in Chengdu, which is a government radio network and an united emergency response platform regulated and manipulated by the city government departments, such as the public safety, fire extinguishment, ambulance and other public enterprises, etc. It helps the government enhance its response and processing capability, offers the citizen timely rescue service.The responsible unit of this project is the Chengdu Information Office, Motorola's products and Dimetra-IP technology are applied to it. Entrusted by the Chengdu Information Office, the Chengdu Radio Supervision Station takes charge of the task of technical design. I was appointed as a representation of the Chengdu Radio Supervision Station to take part in the programming and design for this project. The construction started in the second half of 2004. Till now, this system is basically completed and in good operation, with a coverage of total internal area of Chengdu loop 3, Shuangliu county as well as the airport express way, the users are amounted to 5000, which will increase to 10000 after the second project's completing, and cover all the Chengdu administration area——9 districts and 12 counties.This paper introduces the background, purpose and significance of this project, presents the Motorola's Dimetra-IP truking radio system, analyses and discusses the programming and design and the system functions and required specifications of the Chengdu digital trunking mobile communication system in detail.
