Adaptive optics is a new optics branch that is derived from random disturbance theory and optical wavefront reconstruction theory. This interdisciplinary includes optics, mechanics and microelectronics. For the overwhelming advantages of adaptive optics, it is widely used in aerial survey, laser processing and wireless optical communication. Based on classic adaptive optics, this paper discussed several main wavefront processor structures and corresponding wavefront reconstruction methods. In order to fulfill requirements of the project, a model containing Hartmann wavefront detector and Zernike mode theory is presented. Hartmann wavefront detector is made up of large micro-lens array and TM-1010 CCD camera manufactured by Pulnix. This system has many unique characters such as large-amount data and fast reponse, so we design dual-DSP hardware and CPLD to control the timing of DSP and CCD camera. Experiments show that the wavefront processor can fit all the requirements very well. The paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces the source and meaning of the project, basic structure of adaptive optics and current progress in this aspect. The second chapter presents the overall design principles and methods. The selection criterion of components is discussed. The specification of the adaptive optics system is listed in details in the end. The third chapter shows the interface design schemes between DSP and CCD,CPLD ,flash memory and DMS voltage controller. The forth specifies wavefront reconstruction algorithms, development platform and flow. The fifth chapter demonstrates experimental results and further analysis. The sixth chapter gives the summary of the whole thesis. Also some suggestions to improve current system are also proposed.
