The Building Of A Semantic Web-Based Platform For Educational Material Sharing

With the development of computer, communication and network technology and the rising of knowledge economy, we have entered the information age characterized of informationalized and networklized. Internet has become an important tool of the acquisition, sharing and using of all kinds of information resources.However, the current web uses HTML which is user-oriented to organize and issue information. Therefore, people can easily read the HTML pages but the machine can not understand the contents of the HTML pages. In order to make the machine understand the data it processes, people have brought forward the next generation web -Semantic Web.The author analyzed the problems of the sharing of educational material at present such as too many kinds of educational materials, low degree of sharing, bad effect of keyword search and lack of intelecturalized and humanized support of human-machine interface.The paper introduces the related theory and technology of Semantic Web including the concept research status architecture and key technology of Semantic Web, the concept types, description languages building and management of Ontology and the logic, reasoning and reasoner of Semantic Web.According of traits of educational material sharing, the paper puts forward a model of educational material sharing platform based on Semantic Web and discusses in detail four important issues: material acquisition, Ontology management, reasoning and material using.Finally, the writer analyzed the application of Semantic Web on educational material sharing through two examples: OntoEdu and UBP.
