With the rapid progress of open network system, the structure of PKI network security is widely used and popularized. The identity validity of the doer engaged in network business is the security basis of the whole PKI structure, which is usually authenticated by digital certificate. The generation of key pair is very important for the sake of security. Generation and storage in host computer is the traditional way, which causes many hidden troubles to the privacy of key because of the open application circumstance of computer. A good solution is storing digital certificate and generating private key in CPU smart card which has independent data-processing ability.USB KEY is the new generation identity-authentication product composed of cryptography, smart card and USB technology. USB excels serial port communication mode in that it is more convenient and rapid, so USB KEY will take the place of the original authentication way and be broadly applied in every field of PKI applications.This paper introduces the system structure of USB KEY: the hardware layer, the core driver layer , the standard middle-ware layer and the application layer. The realization of hardware layer is mainly discussed in the paper.The hardware layer is made up of hardware circuits, COS and USB firmware. This paper emphasizes on hardware form of USB KEY, the modular function and working flow of Chip Operating System, USB firmware on COS. Furthermore, J2832 KEY illustrates the realization of COS and USB firmware.
