| On May 1, 2003, CCTV News Channel, the first 24-hour national news channel in China, started its first broadcasting. This was a milestone of the reforming of China Media, From the date it starts, CCTV News Channel is always walking towards its goal of improving its taste by means of the depth report in program ' On-time Report' .TV news, different from other type of media, has the advantage of giving the audience a strong feeling of being inside the event. Besides this, ' On-time Report' can make the audience aware of the essence of each event in a relatively short time period. There are five kinds of reports in this program, which are series report, war report, continue report, combined report and detailed news.Two major things are needed to make a report both accurate and detailed enough. One is a good plan before the interview, and the other is a proper method to make the interview successful. A good plan can give the whole report a clear clue and suitable subject, and it is the foundation for a successful interview. Sound and images, which are collected during the interview, as well as the performance of the journalist, will determine the depth of the report. And most importantly the proper way to use the background information and detailed issues is the soul of a depth report.
