With the rapid development of computer technology and micro-electronics technology, embedded microprocessor has been widely applied to fields of electronic consumption and network communication because of its advantages, such as, high performance and lower power cost, and it has been gradually used in the fields of crypto processing and information security step.The thesis designs a 32-bit RISC architecture general microprocessor on the base of embedded microprocessor architecture and MIPS32 instruction system, and implements it on FPGA, and completes function test and validity verification on the experimental card.The thesis carefully researches on repertoire of microprocessor, designs the data path, and completes the design and realization of ALU unit, instruction fetch and so on by Hardware Description Language; and it researches implement ways and basic theory of finite state machine, and accomplishes the design and realization of control unit by Hardware Description Language.The thesis researches on an application of the microprocessor in the embedded cypto process system, analyzes its problem and deficiency, presents a way of direct data access by increasing special instructions, namely, implements the direct data access between the exterior memory and cypto chip by replacing DMA mode in the general microprocessor with special instructions.The test result proves that the microprocessor achieves all the functions given by the task group. The direct data access mode based on the special instructions reduces DMA hardware circuit, eliminates DMA initialization operation, advances transmission rate, which accumulates experience of studying cypto special microprocessor and SOC system.
