According to the design goal of multimedia material database and the characteristics basing on Web, the essay puts forward the whole design scheme and work flow that the system adopts the four-layer system structure based on J2EE model so as to update, maintenance and extend easily。Thirdly, the realization of multimedia material database system maintained. The system includes two parts, one part which is based on the traditional C/S structure and faces to the database manager is used to manage and maintain the multimedia materialdatabase, the other part which is based on the B/S structure and faces the users is used to manage and maintain of users' multimedia material database.Fourthly, the realization of the multimedia material uploaded. This system includes two methods to upload user materials, one is hatching upload, the other is Web uploading. It carries special module for each upload method.
