Embedded remote monitor system can control over remote device and also has the ability to acquisition data from remote device. Compare to traditional monitoring system, the new system can make good use of existing network resource and connect to 10M/100M Ethernet conveniently, thus the new system can also partly replace the mode of previous network structure which composed of CAN bus, RS-232 or RS-485 bus. Recently, the range of Ethernet becomes more and more widely and the users growth rapidly. It is a trend to enforce monitoring under Ethernet. You can accomplish manage of monitoring and system setup with opening Internet Explorer only. The way of monitoring based on Ethernet makes the traditional way trend toward digitalization, networking and intelligence.This thesis has designed a remote monitoring system based on S3C4510B and embedded real time operation system VxWorks, including hardware board design, the development of BSP, implantation of VxWorks, implantation of GoAhead Web Server and the software of Pan/Tilt controller. This system may satisfy the need of controlling over remote devices and the reading of simple state information.In the first, the paper introduced hardware design of the remote control system. The hardware system is composed of three parts;the primary is S3C4510B and its memory unit, including necessary auxiliary circuit. The memory unit includes 16M bytes DRAM and 2M bytes Flash. The VxWorks operation system and application code run in DRAM, and the Flash is for the storage of BOOTROM image, VxWorks image, webs and scripts. The second part is control and data acquisition circuit unit, including two serial ports and general use I/O ports. The last part is Ethernet and JTAG circuit units.The thesis has developed the Board Support Package (BSP) based on VxWorks for S3C4510B. The application software is based on VxWorks operation system. It has synthesized asp, CGI and GoForms technologies of GoAhead Web Server, and provided services for webs, remote control and data acquisition tasks.
