The Research And Design On Workflow Management System

With the business requirements changing constantly, the design, optimization and management of business process become important means of enterprise competition. Now, workflow technology has become the core technology for the definition, management and control of process, and Workflow Management System (WfMS ) is based on workflow technology. By transferring reasonably and distributing concerned information and resource to correspond each activity in business procedure, it can help to realize business object of enterprise efficiently and to reforge business procedures better.First, the paper analyzes workflow technology, the model and structure of WfMS, and it also concludes the products and their sorts. According as the model and structure made by Workflow Management Coalition( WfMC ), the paper labors the reference model and makes the requirements of WfMS clear. Then, with some popular technologies such as .NET, XML, Web Service, the system is designed and implemented according to the requirements. In the system, Workflow model is extended to process model, information model and organization model based on meta-model of WfMC, which can predigest business process and make process model agile. Process definition language based on XML can combine with other workflow definition well. Role-Based Access Control is applied in organization model' s design and it meets the requirements of complex organization in enterprise. In workflow engine module, processes' schedule is implemented by co-operations of scheduler, task-manager, resource-manager and information-manager, which insures processes' operation order by the sequence defined. The encapsulation with Web Service provides the cooperation interface with other WfMS. Finially, the Workflow Management System designed is applied in the purchase management.The structure of the thesis is listed below: In chapter 1, the paper outlines the research background, meaning and concerned technologies' development. In chapter 2, it analyzes the conceptionsand principles and labors the actuality and sorts of WfMS. In chapter 3, there is the analysis and design of the main modules in WfMS in detail. In chapter 4, the WfMS designed is applied into Purchase Management, which realized co-operation and information communion in all departments. In the end, it is a conclusion to the paper. What' s more, the further research are put forward.
