Along with the development of the network and network information resources' exploiture, webometrics is rising. As an important part of webometrics, metric study of network user's information behavior is concerned increasingly by academia, and rises to an important topic gradually. The user service is intelligence's end purpose, metric study of network user's information behavior, can extend and deepen the user research theories in the networked environment.Based on user research, network technique, information resources management and informetrics, relied on webometrics, this thesis measures network user's information behavior. Firstly, summarizes the foundation of the thesis, that is, background, significance and current research. Secondly, expounds the chief contents of metric study of network user's information behavior, including information need, classification of network user's information behavior, impact factors, special network user's information behavior and non-standardized information behavior.Especially, emphasizes the characteristics of information-issuing behavior, information-seeking behavior, information-communicating behavior and information-choosing behavior. Thirdly, introduces some methods and tools based on 3-dimensional framework of data collection, theoretical research, and outcome expression. Fourthly, studies on empirical research of two representative information behavior. The first one analyzes the log file of three library's website using WebTrends and NiHuo, reveals some important characteristics of their user's information behavior. The second one adopts the data of SOHU and CNNIC, and analyzes blogger's information behavior. Finally, summarizes work and lack of the thesis, put forwards the research direction of the metric study of network user's information behavior.
