Study On The Group User's Information Behavior Under The Network Environment

With the development of internet and information technology and the changes from concerning in "system" to "user",the study of information behavior has become the frontier and hot issue in Information Science. The study of user's information behavior would improve the information service quality, enhance the information management, and promote the system interaction and benefit, because information service is the target of User Study. In order to target the specific users markets and optimize the internet recourses, this study, from the angle of the group user, analyses the information behavior, the study that classify different group users and analyze the property and behavior of each group.The first part, which is the theoretical basis of this study, introduces the background and significance of this study, reviews the intentional tendency and topic in this field, analyzes present condition of domestic researches from multidiscipline subjects angle.The second part, which is the essential prerequisite of this study, divided into longitudinal and latitudinal parts, the former one classifies different group users according to different standards, which are 1)Homogeneous groups and 2) Heterogeneous groups, and summarizes the characteristics and information behaviors of each group.The latter one classifies the information behaviors into five sub-types which are information-demanding, information-seeking, information-choosing, information-communicating, and information-using according to the basic elements and steps in informatics'process.The third part analyses the research content of group user's information behavior and discusses the start-up point of this study, in this part, this study analyses the factors which will influence the information behavior, factors that include user's own factors, which include the characteristics, knowledge structures, cognitive ability, information literacy, information ability, and emotion, and external environmental factors, which include organization environment, the internet information, network tools, internet safety, internet facilities, and internet technology. The study of information behavior describes the relationship among different aspects in the information process.The fourth part introduces the research methods and tools from the social research's three different stages, and a case study of college students in this part analyses the special group's information behavior's features, and on the base of the case study, a college students'information behavior model has been set up.The last part is the conclusion of this study including the gain, the existent deficiency, and perspective in the course of research.
