In all kinds of entertainment equipments, the lighting facilities play an important role. And the Intelligent Beam is the one of the most used. The Intelligent Beams based on microcontroller have been widely used in stages, TV studios and family parties, because of its various colors and gobos, and its quickness of movement. Intelligent Beams are becoming more and more popular.This thesis is consisted of two parts, which are hardware and software. And the thesis analyse the causes which influence the precision of the system.(1) In hardware part, MSP430F147 is used as main controller which is 16 bit microcontroller produced by TI (Texas Instrument). Two phases stepping motor which is driven by invariable torque and dual chopper driver, is used as executing component. This Intelligent Beam contains 6 channels, which are Shutter, Colors, Gobos, Rotor Gobos, Pan, and Tilt.(2) In this thesis, software part contains 11 modules, which are main program module, initialization module, menu display module, communication module, stepping motor driving module, shutter control module, color control module, gobo control module, gobo rotor module, pan control module and tilt control module. According to the characteristic of different modules, the thesis has used different arithmetics.(3) The thesis analyse the normal malfunctions and the causes which influence the precision of the system, and applied the resolvent.
