Field bus is a product integrating technology of computer, communication and control, is a new generation control system which is distributivity and open up. CAN (Controller Area Network) is widely applied in industrial field because its precision, reliability, accessibility, maintainability.By thorough analysis and synthetize, this paper discuss technical theory and technical regulation of CAN BUS, realize a frame of intelligent instrument based on CAN protocol. This paper choice P89C51RD2 as control chip and design concrete hardware connection. The other important components include A/D converter TLC2543, CAN controller interface chip SJA1000 and so on. This paper design the principle of hardware. Summarization is given to anti-jamming of this software and hardware in this system.This paper detailed analysis data collection, treatment, transmission three constituent parts of intelligent instrument based on CAN protocol and expatiate design point and design idea. Finally, enclosed function demand and design scheme of hardware, this paper set up software development system of this project. The developing environment that this paper use is Keil C51. This paper developed a PC-based software with VC++6.0 and software flow char and parts of source program.In the end, the characteristics are summrized, such as easy to operate, convenient to expand and update, friendly to software interface, what's more, some respects to be improved and perfected are pointed out.
