EKP (Enterprise Knowledge Portal) provides knowledge to the staff of an enterprise by integrating all kinds of information resources. It is a combination of EP (Enterprise Portal) technique and KM (Knowledge Management) theory that makes use of Portlet and support SSO (Single Sign-On) to offer a single passage to enterprise knowledge. EKP not only holds the general characteristics of EP, but also assists the course of KM well. Taking advantage of EP technique, EKP will be an important part of KMS (Knowledge Management System) that can make up some shortcomings of KMS.Based on the deep investigation on the theory and application of EKP and KM, the thesis analyzes the role of EKP in enterprise knowledge management and the advantages it actually holds. Then the paper goes deep into the research on the EKP's construction techniqueand at last puts forward an EKP solution for retail chain enterprises according to the characteristics of chain operation. The dissertation is hoped to be valuable for the research on EKP theory and application.Firstly, the basic theory of EKP is introduced, including the current evolution, concept, trait and product category. Secondly, the construction of KMS and the main functions of EKP are analyzed, and then the thesis puts forward the shortcomings of current KMS and the advantages the EKP holds in KM process. Thirdly, an in-depth study on EKP's development technique is done where JSR168 and WSRP are discussed in detail. Lastly, after analyzing the general situation of retailing KM, the paper designs a retail chain enterprise knowledge portal and partially realizes its BI (Business Intelligence) function.
