Research Of Mobile Agent And It's Security Problems In E-Government System

Mobile Agent is intelligent software which can transfer through the network independently. It determines itself when to transfer and which host to move in. Agent software clones itself or generates sub agent to finish complicated tasks assigned by users. As the complexity of mobile software has increased over time, so too have the associated treats to security. This paper describes an overview of the range of threads facing the designers of agent platforms and provides a range of measures for countering the identified threats. The paper also proposes a reasonable solution to solve these security problems.The paper integrates the National Information Security Infrastructure with mobile agent application, and brings forward a security mobile agent management module. This module is a safe, robust open framework. It not only adapts to applications in E-Government system, but also can be the basis of all kinds of mobile agent application systems.Based on the research of NISI and the strategies of protecting mobile agent system, we design a mobile agent security module which employs NISI as its fundament. The module synthesizes several security mechanisms including: verifying agent's identity; testing integrality of agent; assigning access rights in host; safe interpretation of java code; encryption of communication; anti-attack hardware environment.Our research achievements solve the security problems of mobile agent system and provide a flexible security framework. We can apply this framework into E-Government mobile agent system and it also provides a core structure to other mobile agent systems.
