GSM network is the most successful mobile communication network in the world, andthere is big increment of end users in China. There are more than 20 companies who canproduce their own radios, and more than one hundred of OEM factories and more than 100design houses are growing in China. Severe competition and fast-changing market are askingfor versatile models of GSM radio. Rapid launch up for models will come out lowercalibration efficiency and unstable TX power.Two main issues are analyzed in this paper.Use a specified factor to track the stability of radios. When they are stable enough, willstart Simple Calibration procedure;when they are not stable, will start Detailed Calibrationprocedure, so that test time can be reduced and cost can be decreased.Another question is the unstable TX power in different channels. Based on data of fullchannel TX test, compensation method of TX power cross bands are proposed to improve oldcalibration method. And some Expanded Channels are selected to calculate compensationdata besides the traditional Reference Channel. In the channel which has bad performance,DAC data will change to improve TX power;in the channel which has better performancethan Reference Channel, DAC data will change also to decrease TX power. In reality, all willbe controlled by improved PA Table to get compensation result.
