Bluetooth is a kind of short-range wireless telecommunication technologyworking in the band of ISM 2.4GHz,because of using the hopping frequencytechnology more security, lower power-consumption and interfering with otherequipments become its major characteristics .It can be used to transfer informationbetween the peripheral equipments and PC and many kinds of portable equipments.After introducing the framework of Bluetooth system and comparing it withother short-range wireless communication technologies such as homeRF, 802.11b andIrDA technology,this paper points out the advantages and shortcomings of Bluetoothtechnology .The process of identifying with each other and setting up communicationlinks between different Bluetooth devices are described in detail too .Pinches of theway of forming a network between different Bluetooth devices and its characteristicsare emphasized.SDP protocol is one of the most important part of the Bluetooth system and hasclose relationship with its way to be used. It provides the sound foundation andsupport of using the Bluetooth worldwide in the public ISM 2.4GHz band , formingthe basic of all the Bluetooth Profiles .The principle and realization of SDP protocolare described and analyzed detailedly . Emphasis is put on the principle and process ofhow to modulate and realize SDP protocol on the SPP Profile in this paper ,at thesame time pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of doing this.The development system of Bluetooth technology BlueLab is also introduced isthis paper .The design of hardware and code displayed in the paper have been testedin lab and have the primitive functionality of demonstration and experiment of SDPprotocol.
