An Information Study Of The Local Newspapers Of The City Of Nanjing

While, in our country, the political system reform is undergoing in depth continuously and the democratic politics is developing day by day, the supervision of the public voice in news reports is showing it's enormous vitality. It is playing an important role in promoting social righteousness, deprecating the evil phenomena of society and boosting development of society. The supervision report of newspaper, a most striking shortcut of news report, is concerned by governments and the Party branches of different levels and highly appreciated by the people and is playing an unsubstitutable role in the progress of social politics, economics and legal system. Yet in present urban newspapers, although the layout is full of beautiful things in eyes and the contents are rich, news in society and show business is still their focus. Other reports such as supervision reports are still inadequate.Having passed through ten-year's development, urban newspapers have become a major and welcome form of newspapers in the market. Although oriented to citizens, urban newspapers do not always attempt and accomplish nothing while facing essential social problems, since the citizens' daily life is inevitably involved in deeper-seated problems. Since newspapers are in competitions for surviving and developing, the supervision reports should especially not be neglected. This is the inevitable trend in their development. Thus, it is necessary to analyze the supervision reports of urban newspapers.The four newspapers of Nanjing chosen in this dissertation have their respective characteristic as well as their commonness. Having studied qualitatively and quantificationally the respective characteristic and the commonness of the chosen papers' supervision reports by means of statistics, content comparison and datum analysis, the author has explored the sticking point that holds back their development. In the dissertation, from the aspects of increasing the readability and the depth of the reports and creating favorable social conditions, the author has discussed the way that Nanjing papers improve their future supervision reports, put forward some proper countermeasures and tried to offer some enlightening and referential advice about the operation and development of the supervision reports of urban newspapers.
