Nowadays,the Underwater Vehicles(UVs) are widely used and play great role in military affairs and exploitation of the ocean resource. But the expense of UVs development is very high and the development period is very long.At the same time,as UVs work under the water,they are subject to lose for accident. Therefore,it's necessary to supply monitoring apparatus online and self-rescue equipment in case of accident for UVs.At the present time, the research and development of UVs self-rescue system is hot in the world. This paper is based on the development of the laboratory simulation system, which is one of the important advanced researches of Department of Military Equipments in the tenth "Five-year Plan". This system simulates UVs' auto-laying and self-rescue. Some aspects are discussed and researched in detail in this paper: 1, The theories of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Fuzzy Inference (FI) and Expert System (ES) are introduced firstly in the paper. By the Fuzzy Logic tools supplied by Matlab, fuzzy member functions of the variables are built, fuzzy factors are selected to build the fuzzy inference mechanism and rules of expert knowledge are set up. 2, 3DMAX5.0 is introduced in the paper. At the same time, UVs' main body, the screw, the beaconing, the balance weight and the battery cabin are drawn by 3DMAX5.0. 3, OpenGL graphic software is introduced. The 3DS files of the three-dimensional model are read and drawn by OpenGL graphic software. 4, The graphic interface of the ES is developed by VC++6.0. After inputting the data by manual at the graphic interface or getting data from the serial port, the ES begins to work. According to the decision result, the animation of UVs' self-rescue process and UVs' condition are simulated. 5, According to the different decision result, UVs' movement is analyzed and calculated. It gives reference for emulating the process of the UV's movement. The intelligent fuzzy expert system of UVs discussed in this paper will be in favor of the theory research of UVs' self-rescue. Because the research and development of the UV's self-rescue is in the initial step at home and abroad, this ES needs to be further improved and only by this, it can provide valuable reference to the research of UV's self-rescue.
