With the daily improvement of technology , The combination of traditional multimedia industry and IT industry is more and more closer. Achievements in IT area are widely used in multimedia area, which in turn greatly improve the multimedia industry. The application of Long-Delay and Reverb Sound-effect system is a good example of DSP (Digital Signal Processor) in audio Process. This thesis introduces a Multifunctional Long-Delay digital sound-effect device and a Reverb device based on the same hardware platform. According to the requirements of the whole system, system schema is discussed, and TI's DSP platform is chosen for the system. Hardware and software are separately introduced in the thesis. For the hardware, the thesis makes a detailed discussion, including TMS320VC5402, A/D and D/A converter circuits, SRAM and FLASH interface, control circuit and power supply circuit. For the software, the thesis firstly introduces the designs of the sound-effect model of the two processing device, including the sound-effect algorithm and all the effect-model designs of the Long Delay device, the Hall and Room algorithm of Reverb device, and a newly designed Spring Reverb algorithm for Reverb device. Moreover a six-cell data structure is designed for operating the data buffer, based on which the modularization of the software is designed. And the software flow is given in the thesis. A summary is proposed for the whole system's research. Some methods to improve this system are also discussed, as well as the future research direction. With more than one year's work, all the effect and function of the Long Delay device and Reverb device are realized. And two sample devices are manufactured. All the sound effects are certificated by professionals from our cooperative company of Wuhan Eleca Electronics Company.
