A H.324 Video Phone And MMS Terminal Based On VFAST Platform

Nowadays the traditional ways of communications is developed by the development of internet, the tradional such as phone,E_mail and chat cann't meet the requirement of modern communications.A new way of communications-video phone which can transmit video audio and pictures appears.Nowadays the video terminal can meet the requirement of modern communications. Currently two ways are widely adopted in the research and development of H.324 system. One is to develop purely software based H.324 system, namely PC-based system; another is to implement the H.324 system function by using programmable video signal processor. The advantage of first solution is cheap and easily to replant,but need a high configuration of a computer,and can not meet the requirement of real time communication.The advantage of second solution is based on hardware.If the algorithm or the standard changes,only change a small part of microcode that we can meet the requirement.The second solution has an anvantage that is flexible and can be extended easily.The solution put forward by this paper is based on the programmable video signal processor VFAST. In Risc+DSP solution,the compution of audio and video is assign to DSP,Risc will do with the real-time data .The solution can develop individual visual telephone terminal and can be soon applied to the fields like communication and surveillance.
