The Application Research Of Data Mining Technology In Teaching Quality Evaluation

This paper introduces Data Mining and its relevant conception and it also studies data mining technology and its mining algorithms, mainly dealing with the approaches of decision tree and its improved algorithmic methods, its relevant rules and its practical application in teaching quality evaluation system. Through data mining on the students' evaluation data on faculties' teaching in Nanjing University of Finance and Economics and database of some teachers, we can take advantage of its association rules to mine some key factor affecting teaching quality, and after that we can analyze the mining results and approve its validity.This paper studies and analyzes the realizing progress of ID3 algorithm in decision tree methods by applying the practical data in teaching quality appreciation. A detailed description is given to mine the association rules, by scooping out the classic algorithm -Apriori algorithm to give an all pseudocode. By combining the reference to the method of the born association rules and from frequent (k-l)-itemset that generates candidate k-itemsets, the author put forward the view that the protasis of the rule goes before the apodosis, thus produces the corresponding calculation of the association rules, and succeeds in carrying out that calculation in the teaching quality evaluation data mining system.This text inquires into the teaching quality evaluation data mining system and gives two kinds of solution based on the SQL Server. The first project is to clean the original data, set up the corresponding data warehouse based on the SQL Server 2000, then invoke the data mining algorithm provided by the SQL Server analysis service module to set up the data mining model. The second project is to design a data mining module of carrying out the Apriori algorithm based on Microsoft VisualBasic 6.0, the data source and the results are all kept in the SQL Server. That data mining module can be invoked by users, and, by modifying the registry, can also be connected with the SQL Server to help the users to invoke directly with the analysis service module of the SQL Server together.The teaching quality evaluation system of Nanjing University of Finance and Economics is now in a development of adjusting to trial tests, student's evaluation on-line teaching system is its main sub- system, by means of which the students can make the most of the campus net to carry on an evaluation to the teaching quality of each lecture. The teachingquality valuation system as another sub-system------teaching qualityevaluation data mining system, its main function is to mine on the students' appreciation data on teaching and teacher file data. The adoption of data warehouse is used as the students' organizational tool on teaching quality valuation data. The usage of decision tree method and association rule mining algorithm carries on the data mining. This text gives out the software frame of the system on teaching quality evaluation data mining, and uses correlated data to carry on the experiment of the association rule mining algorithm, and carries on its first step analysis on its results.
