The Research On The Multi-media Long Distance Training Management Platform For Tobacco Industry

We are now in the information age, the advances of the community require people of higher quality in the new century.This thesis discusses the training need for employees in the tobacco industry and the current condition of long distance training and multi-media technology. It gives a lot of details about the research on long distance multi-media training management system platform, based on the internet long distance learning technology. It also talks about the design of the multi-media long distance training management system platform suitable for the tobacco industry, with a focus on the organization, design, functionality and implementation.We discuss the different database organizations, more importantly, the three-layer database system. Three-layer system is to add an intermediate application server layer in between the browser and the server, it can work across platforms. It can be easily bundled with internet, and transfer the majority of the database processing from user end to web server and database server, therefore, make the system more flexible.As for the design and the development of the management platform, we discuss the principles and objectives of the development and the functionality of the modules. The design of the system emphasizes the advanced training and education theories, and the implementation uses module design. The system has great flexibility and portability. The system includes the training management system, learning platform, multi-media course development and administration, back end management, etc.In the respect of the management platform support technology, it goes deeply into the multi-media database technology, multi-media course technology and virtual reality. With the combination of file-based system management and relational database technology, the normal data is processed by relational database, while multi-media data is processed using files, it bypasses the technical difficulties such as compressing the multimedia data. Multi-media course development uses the advanced data compression technology, improves the transfer speed over the network. For some cases where it is hard to operate on site, or where training has to be performed on the expensive equipment, virtual reality will be used. Taking the separation of tobacco stem and cut tobacco in cigarettes production engine as an example, the procedure for virtual reality is described.As for the development of the dynamic web site for the management platform, we discuss the technology of internet database connection and web site implementation. Forthe development of dynamic web site, we used the widely used JSP to achieve the database connectivity.At last, it summarizes the research results of this thesis and the future improvement.
