Modeling and simulation technologies are widely used in industrial process and have brought enormous economic benefit, while the development of modeling and simulation software stays on a low level. It is necessary to develop a platform combined with modeling and simulation technologies to speed up the application of these technologies and to improve such software lever. In this paper a real-time modeling and simulation platform on Windows 2000 is designed according to characteristics of modeling and simulation system. After requirement analysis, function analysis, modularization analysis and architecture analysis with the approach base on layer architecture and object-oriented software architecture, this platform is divided into three layers. Following this, each layer is designed using OOP method and the powerful real-time platform is done. These software architecture styles used in this software are widely used in present because they are characterized by well-understood, stable, widely reused and well maintainable.During system implementation, an approach that is focus on software testing is formed. This approach, which includes class testing, subsystem testing and system testing, ensures the software quality and improves credibility and stabilization of the platform. This platform can be used to model on-line and off-line and design controller for industrial process. It also establishes the foundation of simulation and optimization for complex industrial process.
