It is difficult for the managers to maintain or update the software of hospitals with the frequent requirements of users. It always causes the inconsistency of versions of software. On the other hand, there are more and more sub systems of the systems of hospitals bacause of the complicate business. Therefore, it is urgent to introduce the online upgrade system to solve this problem. Based on the textual file evolution, this paper proposes a solution to the online upgrade of software of hospitals.First, we discuss the related work and state of art of the current online upgrade techniques, and analyze the upgrade ways of current application software and system software. The state of art of online upgrade and version controls techniques are pointed. Also we introduce the development method using Apache Ant task.Second, we propose a resolution to the online upgrade of current software in hospitals. The file sharing method, the structure and architecture of online upgrade are discussed in detail. Moreover, the file transmission approach of online upgrade is presented. We propose a dynamic loading of applications implementing the hot distribution.Finally, we design and implement the client and server of online upgrade system for the current applications of the hospitals. The preponderance and features of this approach are analyzed. We use Apache Ant task fot the implementment of this system, which can be easily extended. It also has a guiding significance for the online upgrade of other applications since it is based the textual file evolution.
